About me
splatch
I’m a software developer from Poland with over 20 years of experience, focused on integration, middleware, and distributed systems.
I started my professional work around 2005 with PHP, though by that time I was already an experienced programmer, experimenting with different languages, frameworks, and design patterns. PHP was simply the first technology I used commercially. Around mid-2006 to early 2007, I transitioned to Java, which became my primary ecosystem and the foundation for most of my work going forward.
Early in my career, I worked in enterprise environments, including maintaining middleware solutions for PZU, the largest insurance company in Poland. I also took part in one of the first introductions of an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) at Bank Pocztowy, which shaped my long-term focus on system integration and interoperability.
From 2009, I operated as an independent software consultant, collaborating with companies like Nokia Siemens Networks and Alcatel-Lucent. This period exposed me to large-scale, distributed, carrier-grade systems and reinforced my interest in reliability and system design under real-world constraints.
Around 2012, I was contracted by Red Hat to work on SwitchYard, a future backbone of JBoss Enterprise Application Platform. This exposed me to commercial side of open-source integration technologies.
Between 2013 and late 2017, I worked as a consultant for a supplier of software for intelligence agencies, focusing on ETL, integration and security of robust systems operating in sensitive environments.
In 2018, I worked with Apifocal LLC on SilkMQ, a messaging platform, and on a middleware solutions for EHR systems based on the FHIR standard. At the end of that year, I collaborated with Kugu-Home GmbH, integrating Wireless M-Bus devices into their metering pipeline.
In 2019, I delivered a project for a large German grocery network, building authorization services for supplier portal. Entirely based on Keycloak. After that, I became fully engaged in ConnectorIO, a company I co-founded. The focus there was on building a software bridge for industrial hardware, which also led to contributions to the Apache PLC4X project. I remained a primary source of code for ConnectorIO over time of COVID pandemic.
From 2022, I spent a year working with OpenNMS, where I focused on multi-tenancy controls built on top of Keycloak, as well as developing a network monitoring agent and backend capable of collecting large volumes of metrics. The entire stack was designed and deployed on Kubernetes end-to-end.
Since November 2024, I’ve been working as a full-time Tech Lead in Abu Dhabi, in a R&D environment involving radio and telecommunication systems.
Throughout my career, I’ve consistently worked at the intersection of systems—messaging, integration, security, and distributed architectures. I focus on solving complex, practical problems and building software that remains reliable and maintainable over time.
